Ok this is the plan as of to date in a 92' awd turbo laser. (I changed some from my last thread not much though)

1. muffler shop to mandrel bend you a custom exhaust ($300) from the turbo back. Make sure the bends are not crush or press-bent, because they will narrow and impede exhaust flow.

Now that you all know what is going down here are the questions.
This car is going to need to pull at least 12.8s and be a daily driver. To the list above- am I missing something or adding something I do not need?

As for the following parts what vendor do you recommend and what brand (if there is one) do you recommend I get from you experiences?

1. AFPR: Adjustable fuel pressure regulator (btw is this the same as a fuel controller if not what fuel controller should I get)

2. S-AFC: Super airflow controller

3. MAF- mass air flow sensor (do I need to replace this?)

4. Turbo timer (what kind where- do I get it?)

Also here are some good example posts that actually helped me out instead of a lecture. Please post stuff like this –although try to be more specific like where you recommend I buy them from and the website.


how about a AFPR and a SBR manifold in place of the ported 2g manifold.

its amazing how many people on the boards have no idea where to get DSMlink because I think it could possibly be the confusing website address. www.dsmlink.com

I would go with 660's and evoIII 16g, that will give you bigger power but still have good spool-up and boost response to have quick acceleration out of the turns.

oh and what about an 02 housing.

Grab some Eibach sportlines some tokico adjustables and a camber kit.
Grab some sway bars, strut brace, Motor mounts.

what rim / tire combo are you doing with.
 
Shep or TRE would be who you want to talk to for a transmission.

I like TRE's work, but getting a hold of Jon can be a real pain sometimes. You just have to be patient.

Everyone sings Sheps' praises on here, a good transmission as well.

If you want decent handling, I would get a good coilover setup.
 
You will want an AFPR for one because your stock will be overrun and you will be rich and two because it will help you control what PSI you want at the fuel rail. DSMlink IS your controller.. it controls fuel trims timing and many other features. With DSMlink there is no need for any S-AFC or MAFT.

make sure when ordering the air filter from Buschur you are getting the adaptor plate as well because you cant just bolt a aftermarket cone filter up without one.

turbo timer is not needed spend the money somewhere else.

you might want to check out extremepsi.com for injectors as they seem to be cheaper than FTP.

I would prefer an EVO 16g over a ported 14b forcedperformance.com has many turbos
 
oh.. and get the SBR manifold from SlowBoyRacing.com over the ported 2g as well as think about getting an 02 housing with dump tube or without from like punishment racing.
 
Ok I emailed a friend at QPR off of front in St. Paul it will take a day or two for him to email me back but the list I sent him was this did I forget something? Also he is going to send me a new list back for what I need for what I want to do. He races these all the time and also build these cars for those that are racing them. "Quick Precision Racing" for future reference. So does anyone else have any new suggestions? Or is this it?

b.-Or get an ATR catback exhaust system (499) I really do not want this to sound like a four cylinder or a ricer at that. As low as possible from my understanding this would do the trick- is this true?

Almost forgot what order would you put these in if these were THE ONLY mods that were going to be done?
