hey guys, so I just bought a 96 talon. my first dsm ever. it has a lc1 wideband hooked up to it and it worked good but after 20 minutes or so it'd go to 7.4 and stay there. I replaced the sensor today and re did the wiring because it was a mess. Now the gauge with the sensor unplugged just blinks really fast at 7.4 and doesn't change. with the car on or off, If I plug the sensor in it blinks at 7.4 then after 20 30 seconds itll peg at 21 and stay there. I'm lost and frustrated. Not sure what to do. i have searched for this and i have checked the wiring diagrams and i think i have it wired up correctly... and most the people with this issue say its a bad sensor and to replace it but i did replace it. i dont have the button or led that i see people mention either idk if thats a factor or not.
Off the gauge I have
Black = ground
Red = power
Yellow = nothing

Off the sensor side
White = ground
Blue = ground
Black = ground
Yellow = nothing
Brown = ecu
Red = power

I think the button and led are for free air calibration. I have a LC-1 that came with a bunch of parts and it has both of those. I personally run the LC2, so I can't be positive that is what the button and led are for but I think that is right.
Hopefully a seasoned person that has or has used an LC1 will chime in!

Good point Tony.
Also, the sensor ground and the ECU ground should be the same or ground at the same point or you could get different readings on the gauge and the ECU, which should always match. Thanks to @95GSXracer (Mr. Jewer) for pointing that out to me and getting mine to both read the same.

i looked up the wiring diagram and all those are supposed to be grounded. i actaully got the diagram off this website.

'Narrowband simulation install (DB gauge, Logging, ECMlink v3 setup) [LC-1 sensor placed in front o2 spot]
Red wire – 12v accessory power source (e.g. cigarette lighter or radio)
Blue wire – chassis ground
White wire - ECU sensor ground (pin 24)
Brown – split between DB gauge’s white wire and ECU pin 15 or pin 4 (ECU Pinout - http://www.dsmlink.com/images/forums/1GECUPinout.pdf)
Yellow – Not used
Black – Calibration push button to monitoring LED to ground "

pulled that directly off this website. so black is for calibration and is supposed to be to a button so maybe its not supposed to be grounded all the time? im not sure. it worked before which is why its throwing me off. i left the ground and power source the same ( all grounds go to one spot which is by the fuse box on the driver side, im not sure what wire the used from it but it works. ) , i didnt change that and the gauge half ass worked before. so ik the power and ground sources are good. for sure. im just not sure what else would cause problems. a guy posted a screen shot on fb with a manual calibration without the button. said turn the car on with the sensor unplugged for 30 seconds and then turn the car off, plug the sensor back in turn the key on and wait 5 minutes for the calibration to complete. so i may try that. but does the calibration wire need to be grounded or not grounded for this to work? it was grounded before but it would mess up after a while so i may try to cut it and see what happens.

The momentary button is simply a disconnect from the negative so that's no big deal.

Looks like it does have a couple of grounds. I'd put those on the battery.

It says not to use radio power wire (section 2.2 with the big triangle). I'd run it directly to the battery as well or use a relay.
