laptop logging _ hw do i go about

i just got a new dell XPS M140 and i only have use firewire and s video and also network ports so how can i hook my laptop up to log without using my palm ??

I know of no loggers that use USB other then total standalone systems so you are going to need a USB -> Serial converter. Depending on what it is you are logging with you will/might need a specific converter.
