From what I've read it seems like I can use the same cable for my laptop as for my palm. Is this true?

I have a laptop with a serial connection what cable do I need simple question guys please help me out. Remember this is obd2 not a 1g.

Also some free software for the laptop? BESIDES dsmlink.

Don't ask why I want to use a laptop instead of a palm. I hate the palm to the fullest. p.o.s. palm:beatentodeath: :beatentodeath: :beatentodeath: :beatentodeath: :beatentodeath:

Nope, one is a DCE and the other a DTE so the connector sex and signals assigned to pins 2 and 3 are different between the two.

You need a gender changer and null modem to convert fom one device to the other.
