LOL i have a million pics on my comp and they said
how about lambo suicide doors heh j/k, I thought about doing the lambo thing but getting the motors off the rear doors on Caravans so they could be motorized
and
If you have the time, money, and resources...GO FOR IT! I'm a 1g too so I gotta give you support on this man. Its probably going to cost a ton of money and time but would look sweet. I am more for either the Gull wing door style or what I really want is Sucide doors. (When they open backwards!) That'd be killer. I just dont want to spend my money on that stuff right now....

here's some pics of a 1ga with lambo doors...

I think Lambo doors are getting played out to much now. Love to be able to do butterfly like the delorian, or suicide.

butterfly's as in real gullwing doors...it cuts too much into the roof for my liking...suicide doors i may consider.

GSEclipse06-
When you are talking on the internet and everyone says its all played out ya it kinda is. Cause everyone lives on the net. But when you look around where you are living and no one else has it, then I would consider it something different and new.
Here is something to help you out. Its a nice tool to have around anyhow.
Fender Roller Tool

Good luck with your project and I hope it works out for you.

my thoughts exactly...noone else around my area has any..so yeah thats why i plan on getting them.

I'm seriously considering about putting this on my wish-list too. But I was wondering about two things, 1) is this gonna screw up your ventilation in the doors? I'm in Canada EH so I need to be able to defrost that window :D 2) your stereo system. I've obviously got wires running into the door panels and what not. Will I have to worry about that as well?

ps. I'm busy reading all the posts and crap and then I see the picture of the reverse lambo doors. OMG My jaw hits the floor. Could anyone give me an estimation on how much that'd run ya up? They call it a wish-list for a reason :D

If you are looking for estimates, your best bet is to take your car to a body shop place you like and can trust and start asking them questions and telling them what you would like to do with your car. Tell them you are looikng for some prices and see what they come up with.

thanks for the link yea thats the thing you see em in mags all the time but locally there arent many the last big show we had there were only a few cars that had em

Honestly, I don't think you should do it. If you had a 2g, that'd be a different story, but the 1g's have the frame around the window and it looks like crap on lambo doors.

i agree, lambo doors have been getting played out a bit lately, but they do look good on sashless doors, on certain body styles. I think on a convertable, they look pretty good, and on a fastback they look like complete booty-hole. Now on a 91' 240sx coupe with 100% stock body they would look awsome!

Suicide doors would look pretty killer on a 1g(a or b) :thumb:

so maybe i should have the frames cut off and molded to the body?

.....just kidding.

How much did you cut/grind of ur inner fenders?? And what did u use to get rid of this material?? Some pics would be awesome!! Thanks mine are on there way from Vertical doors!!

The shop that installed my kit put cuts into the inside lip of the fender (the whole lip). They cut segments about every inch or so and then bent them back to clear the hinges.
Unfortunately they did a really crappy job and I had to clean up their work later (painted the edges of the cuts to prevet rust, etc.). Any high-powered cutting tool should do the job. I've heard that cutting the lip out completely damages the structural integrity of the fender so I would check twice with that route.
Good luck with your kit, same one I have :thumb:

i took a air powered grinder and took most of the lip off its trimmed right up flush. I do notice that it is more flexible now but once you get all the bolts back in it doesnt matter so you best route is probably to mark where it opens and closes to and cut that section completly out.

Really does the whole lip got a be cut off?? I thought only a few inches needed to be, and ya few samll cuts and just bend it back is a good idea !! Als owhat a bout out wires?? Do we need t oextend them? I was looking at mine 98 gsx and im sure there is enough there to go up, but i could be wrong?? LOL!

You do need to extend the wires but you don't need to cut the fender..if you take your fenders off and bring them to a body shop you can have them roll the fenders so the hinges will clear...if you cut the fenders you will be very sorry a year from now

Can't you roll that part of the fender? I know exactly which spot you guys are talking about, and if you are cutting and bending back to do this, rolling might not be as messy if it'll work.

I honestly doubt any one around here would even know what im talking about when i say the inner fenders need a be rolled!! LOL! WHat harm is it goin to do any cut it back compared to rolling it?? The material is still there just cut back a little LOL!!! So the wires do need a be extended? I talked to like 5 or 6 people on here and they all said that they dont so wich is it?? LOL Is it hard to get the front bumper of on the 2g's?? Fenders shouldnt be that hard to get off!

Front bumper is easy. Open the hood, remove the 5 visible bolts, pull back the wheel lining covers on each side and undo the 2 bolts and unturn the signal lights, jack up the front end a bit and remove the few screws that attach the bottom plastic guard and that should be it. There are a few guides on here that tell you how to do it. Fenders should be easy as well although I havent tried yet. Rolling would probably be a cleaner way of doing it but cutting it back will work I assume.

Cutting the dender will cost more money to do as you have to make sure they are properly sealed or else the will rust....you are a lot better off rolling the fender
