Kinda tune up @ 130,000

Well I just picked up a black 95' GSX 5 speed for $3500. hella good price. i think the guy bought a new car and just wanted some cash to play with. I was in the right place at the right time. But anyway I was just wondering what parts I should replace and check at around 130,000 miles.. Yeah its high miles but the car was always stock so the guy really never beat on it. Thanks

There is a lot of things you can do such as: New T-belt and B/S shaft belt and new belts all around wouldn't hurt. New hoses/vac lines. Clean out the intercooler. New plugs/wires. New fuel filter. New fluids all around (oil, tranny, t-case, rear end, coolent, etc). Check for boost leaks. Do a compression/leakdown test. Clean the throttle body. There are some things to get you started.

I'd check the following and also talk to the previous owner to make sure you don't replace things that don't need it:

Timing Belt
Balance Shaft Belt
Water Pump
Idler Pulley
Tensioner
Fuel Filer
Plugs
Plug Wires
Oil & Filter

That's the base minimum that you should be looking at. You may also want to do things like:

Coolant Flush
Thermostat
Radiator Cap

I bought my GSX with 58K on it and rather take the chance that any of this stuff would fail, it's all done and I have greater peace of mind. Good luck with your new ride and congrats!

Yep, it was due for a major service including timing belt, water pump, etc at 120k.
Don't forget to change all the trans, diff and brake fluids.

Hey thanks for the input ill get right on most of that. I got a buddy bringin over his compression tools so we can pull the plugs, disconnect the fuel and do the compression test. Car runs nice and strong so hopefully things will check out.
