Okay so I'm going back and forth between the old 99' 7 bolt motor and the '91 6 bolt motor and getting myself confused.

I'm going to use the 2G head with 99 CAS and 6 bolt block. Do I need the Kiggly crank sensor adapter if running this combo? Or just using everything that came with the 2G motor (OEM CAS and Crank sensors?) ECU will be 99 black box.

Thanks guys.

Solution
These ECUs require a camshaft position signal and crankshaft position signal. That fact does not change, even when swapping engines and sensors around.

The specifics of how you provide those signals is where there are some options, depending on the parts you have or what you want to use.

1G CAS units supply both cam and crank signals.
2G cars came with individual sensors for each signal.

If you want to use a 99 (2Gb) cam sensor and you have a 6-bolt block, then yes, the Kiggly crank sensor is needed to provide the crank signal. The 6-bolt block does not have provisions to utilize the original 2G crank sensor.

That's exactly what I needed to know. Thanks for the help!!

Here you can see the front of a 6 bolt block. It doesn't have the correct mounting holes for a 2g crank sensor.
Just for a visual is all.
