Yes I have searched. It seems everyone using this part is using it on a 6 bolt swap into a 2g. I am looking for better ignition control on a 1g. I know triggerdisk has a special cam wheel to mod the optical sensors with but I'd like to work with kiggly parts. Yes he has a pdf download on his tech site. But, all of the sensors have a 2g plug for the crank sensor. 1g's do not. Is this going to be a hardwire mod? I want to stick with the black top CAS and just remove the crank wheel out of it.

You're going to have to hardwire it regardless because 1g's never came with a crank sensor. Also, you're not going to be removing the wheel from thecam sensor...simply modifying it to one tab. Furthermore, you do know there are trigger disks made for the blacktop hall sensor, right?

The stock cam sensor is more than what you need for these cars. You will be gaining nothing by doing this, just spending extra money and over complicating something that already works well.

Actually a crank mounted sensor is far superior to a just a cam mounted design as you gain more accurate timing control without variances due to belt stretch/whip. Also, if you're running aem, you get MUCH faster startup and much more precise control over spark sequences. So in short, you actually gain A LOT, which is why all 7 bolt 2gs and evos have them from the factory and nearly EVERY standalone ems uses a crank trigger.

You only modify the optical sensors to 1 opening per kiggly's tech info

I did not know there were upgrades for the blacktop sensor.

While there isn't technically a "crank" sensor on 6 bolt cars the ECU gets a signal from a separate set of windows, reluctors or whatever you may want to call it from inside the cam sensor. I want to run a dedicated crank sensor for startup ease and to have my ECU know whats really going on with the crank instead of a cam with an adjustable cam gear.

For ease of tuning base timing and setting the intake cam correctly would be a better explanation I guess.

Yes, I'm aware that the 1g gets its signal from the cas. This is why I said you will have to hardwire it regardless. You need to do look at rre or Magnus instructions for a 6 bolt in a 2g. This is how you're going to have to wire your cas to use the kiggly sensor. You are running aem, correct? ### this is the only way you can run a 12 tooth wheel.

Yes I am on AEM. I'm not trying to get any one riled up. I just hadn't seen someone else use it yet. My last post was more towards the other poster. There is much to gain by using seperate sensors.
