One of my friends and myself recently put a Kenwood Head Unit in my 98 Spyder. After the install I discovered that my factory keyless entry and locking key pad where not working at all. The light still flashes on the key pad itself, but the doors won't lock or unluck, and the panic doesn't work. Is the Keyless entry and the head unit connected in someway? Any Ideas?

I'm sure it's fused... wouldn't want a short destroying the alarm when a simple fuse could save it. I just couldn't say where it is, or how it is labeled (may be on a fuse used for multiple devices).

ive never actually looked at my fuse panel, im sure there is a logical fuse that corresponds to the alarm, if you said that your power locks dont work, then look for that fuse and see if its blown

There is a fuse for the keyless entry in the fuse box. Its not blown so I guess I'm gonna try reprogramming this thing.

i have the same problem...my driver side unlocks but the passenger side wont budge...worked b4 the headunit install didnt work after the install...didnt put 2 n 2 together until i read this thread....someoen told me the lil motor might be dead that controls the power lock in the door...it moves a lil but it wont unlock the lock just kinda "twitches"

Tried to reprogram keyless entry system. Stuck my head under the drivers side dash in search of the Data Conector so I could ground pin 1 from pin 4. Where is the Data Conector? I see alot of things that could be it, however I don't see a conector down there that is 8 pins across.

I am making progress, I don't know how, but I am. Haven't tried to reprogram the keyless yet, however the Panic button is working. The connection betweent the keypad and the alarm is there. I just don't know why the doors won't lock or unlock via keypad. Sugestions?
