Keyless Entry

I know all the 2g eclipse are prewired for every power option. My 98 doesn't have keyless entry but there's plenty of 2gs at the pick- n-pull. Does anyone know what the control box or module looks like and where it's located?

Your car might be pre-wired, but I would make sure you have the hardware that actually locks and unlocks the doors. (Door Lock Actuators)

You could always buy an alarm kit that includes door lock actuators, then you wouldn't have to worry about buying stock components.

Well yeah I have all power locks/winows. I just want whatever controls keyless entry then get a remote.

Its a small black box behind the panel that covers the rear 6x9 speaker on the drivers side. Its been awhile since I have seen it so I cant tell you more than that.

Honestly, y might be better off ordering a keyless entry kit from eBay. You can usually pick them uo cheap, and just wire them up to the existing actuators.

x2 on that, its cake wiring up an alarm when you have a diagram! Plus you can wire up the horn instead of the cheezy sirens that most alarms come with.

i heard somewhere that if you have the keyless entry box and if you lock the doors and the green security light comes on, then you have the feature. all you have to do is go to a dealer and find what fcc id (i think thats what its called) and then you can order the fob and you can program it yourself or the dealer can.
