I purchased what i thought were 280 280 kelford cams however i was just looking over the duration sheet and realized they are 264 260. from what ive read, the kelford cams have bigger duration much like a bc 272 however i am running a 6262 or 6266 setup w e85 i plan on running around 600 hp. my real concern is if these cams will flow enough or if i will have issues.

Well, Keltalon is using bc272 cams with a 6266 and is around 650whp. Im not sure if the kelfords are quite as big as even the relatively small bc272s but you should be able to hit 600. Cam gears would be a must have. 264/260 is awfully small though..... I guess you can run em but if you have the money why not sell em and get a good set of 272s? K272s or Crowers or any number of 272s have been proven to 600+whp

Im gonna be hunting for 600+ myself. I def think my crower 272s would get it done but im sending them off to delta for a kelford 272 grind. Going for more top end. I was thinking of suggesting the new 276's to him from bc. Just no word yet on what theyre like. I guess you are the only one i know of on the site that has them, urban. Im sure we'll get to see them in action in the build thread. :)

my knowledge in engines tells me that they should flow plenty considering the stock cam is somewhere in the 250s? and i have seen many big turbos on stock head setup so i feel it will flow well. what im wondering i guess is will there be a point where i "run out of cam"???

I would just get the 272's. Its what I'm getting for only my little S16G.

Theres a few others with them :thumb:

Get some cam gears before you dyno tune. If you dont already. You should be able to hit your mark. Since theyre already in there then give em a go. If they completely fall flat in the upper rpms then you know you need a new set. Also, go through the dyno challenge section and click on users one by one in the target hp range. MAYBE you will find someone with a similar setup. That will help reinforce the numbers to expect, high or low. GL bro

thank you thats what i was looking for. i have cam gears already. i was having the motor assembled and thought i was purchasing 272s but the shop didnt order them, they got the 264s instead. my machanic assures me that the kelfords run the same lift as a bc 272 and that they would flow well. i just wanted to ask around

So are they BOTH 264 or is it a 264I 260E combo?Either way you're probably good to go brother. Kelfords are mean, top end cams.
