just wont start

i have just rebuilt my 92 2.0 eclipse and cant get it to start, the timing marks line up, it is getting fuel, it is getting spark, but it wont start. it sometimes will backfire thru the intake when trying. help!!!

Fuel spark compression timing. The four things need to get the motor running. Is your ecu good? Is your cas plugged in? Is your cas good?

i have not checked compression yet

Um, compression #'s are only accurate on a warmed up engine. Here is the page

gl but it may be the CAS sensor 180 degrees off after the rebuild.
