I just put on a 2.5" downpipe and a 3" catback on my 95 Tsi. Tonite it just started smoking out the exhaust a little. It isnt that major but it has been doing it ever since I put the exhaust on. It smells like buring oil. What do you think? Thanks.

you might have been burning oil to start with. the exhaust that you just added opened up the outlet for the exhaust and let more of it out thats why you are smelling it more. Or its the new smell the exhaust needs to be burned off.
do you have to add oil every now and then?? thats a good sign that you are burning oil. good luck man. :thumb:

Well yea the brand new exhaust has only been on for a week. I also put in a walbro 190 pump and turned my T25 up to 15psi. Maybe the T25 is starting to go out. I do have a 14b that i am about to put on. But ill turn the T25 down and see if thats it.

Does it smoke at idle, under boost, or all the time?

1. check your turbo for shaft play by pulling off the intake snorkel (when the car is cool and off) and see if it spins freely or if there is play in/out/up/down

2. run a compression test on all 4 cylinders. Then add a cap full of oil to all 4, and if the numbers rise significantly, your piston rings might be on their way out.

3. if you ruled out the piston rings, I'd say its either the turbo or your valve seals

Yea how much would it cost to replace teh valve seals and how much would that cost to have a place do that you think? Also yea that T25 has about 109,000 miles on it and i tonite i been racin around town liek 75 miles tonite on 15psi running the car hard so my T25 my have just been worked hard.

The cost of rebuilding the head (resurface, degrease, valve grind, valve seals) will run you about $200. Its the labor to get the head on/off that will really start to add up. If you can pull the head yourself, it will end up being WAY cheaper and you can change your timing belt/water pump at the same time.

If you find that your turbo is bad, I would suggest getting an Evo III 16g as they can be had for around $460 brand new.
