Just picked up a 2gb talon

Hi guys!

I just picked up a nice little project car but I'm having trouble finding replacement parts for it. First off, the hatch is rusted as hell and needs replaced. I can't seem to find a replacement hatch for it. I'm sure it's the same as the eclipses, but what about the holes for the wing? Will I need to drill those myself? I have the high rise.

Hey and welcome! Congrats on finding a 2GB Talon, may it treat you well but also get the care it deserves

Unfortunately, there are slight differences of the rear hatches, mostly in terms of options. Whether it has a rear wiper (+ spray jet), whether it has a defroster, antenna boost and of course, which wing it will have.

The High Rise Talon spoiler only matches up to 1997-1998 Talon models. You will have to drill separate holes if you get any other hatch, or use the wing that's already on it (which only really leaves you with the 97-99 Eclipse High Rise spoiler option).

Don't let this guy bully you, make sure you do a front end Eclipse conversion asap and get rid of that hi rise wing.

You could get a carbon fiber hatch, might be more work than you'd think though most sold don't come with glass installed which is a pain.

The 2gb talon look is rare, and the best looking IMO. Miller Import Parts might be an option for hard to find parts. You can google them or use the search function on this website. I've dealt with him personally, for obscure parts and such, and he is a fantastic seller.

2gb talon look is rare it's polarizing you really like it or don't care for it.

I like the look minus the front bumper I really like the talons other than that. I think the rear looks fine the center support in the talon 2gb is odd, but I could live with it.

You can probably clean up your hatch and just do a wing delete and that would look decent. Keep in mind there are drains in the rear sides of the hatch on the car that are supposed to allow water to flow out however they often get plugged up with sediment / dirt I know when I got my car I spent a good 20minutes just unplugging those drains.

Try to find a 2Gb hatch locally at a junk yard or on Craigslist.

I want to keep the spoiler . The car needs painted, but I need to find the trunk first because it is rusted through on the bottom. I'd prefer to buy new and not used, but if it comes down that then that's what I'll do. Thanks for the support guys. If you find any for sale, please send a link
