hello ladies and gents. i just got a 98 GS. a few things i noticed with the car...

-front shock squeaking, where to buy new shocks? also, is OEM the best choice or are there better aftermarket alternative?

-steering wheel making squeaky noise...if i turn the wheel, both left and right, it makes a squeaky noise very similar to the worn out shocks squeaks. most squeaks when i am doing about 3-8mph, (when im about to park or roaming around in a shopping mall) <-- those speeds. also does it on a stand still, but less.

-are the defrost, rear wiper, and any of the window switches suppose to light up?? mine isnt lighting up.

-when closing driver side window, the window glass goes above the frame, so there is a gap, making it leak rain.snow. ect...the passenger side is very good and the way its suppose to be.

-when closing doors, my sunroof glass kinda goes up and down very quickly, it seems as if the roof glass is not properly held in place.

please explain/tell me what i need to do, as these problems seem to be common in dsms? thank you very much!

I get shocks at O Reilly's They can order good ones such as KYB. Is your steering wheel squeaking or is it a belt squaling when you turn the wheel? Sounds like a belt issue to me. Replace the belt should fix that. If not you need some WD-40 in your steering wheel though I never heard a steering wheel squeak.

I would recommend buying stock replacement suspension, I have KYB AGX's and live in a town where the roads are terrible. Although I can corner like nobody's business, I miss being able to drive over a bump and not cringe.

first off, thank you for the responses. I checked the power steering fluid. its topped off. what belt are u talking about when turning the wheel? as for the shocks, i will go with stock ones. thank you!

the squeak is audible from both inside and outside, so i have no idea, but i guess its comming from the front wheel well? also squeaks if i push down on the car itself. i went to a mechanic and he said it was becuase of the lower control arm?

Lower control arm would mean a balljoint. PITA, but easy. Second the sunroof...just tighten the 6 bolts on the inside. Check fuses for the display lamps. As for the window take the door panel off and have a look, if not see a mechanic.

If you had to come on here for some very basic common knowledge type stuff i suggest you bring your car to a shop and have it worked on.
