I just purchased a 94 eagle talon tsi seems to run really clean ive never owned a 1g before and was wondering whats the best way to keep this car running for a long time and if there is anything to watch out for on this car any pointers is greatly appreciated oh yeah it has 164000 miles thanks;)

how do i make sure the bov is recirculated? and thank you all for the help

There should be a hose coming off it which is just about an inch in diameter and should be running back into your intake to the turbo behind the air filter. Some people will take that hose off the bov and cap off the spot where it went into the air intake so it makes the swoosh sound. The only problem is it will make your car run rich because of the extra air escaping and not being sent back into the engine. Because of that it is not recommended.

The best way is to post pictures to show us your new TSI :) ;)

And next is to do all maintenance, purchase an aftermarket boost gauge and mbc. Then gradually Mod & Tune!

Oh, and the obvious; don't abuse the car...

Also learn to LOVE THIS SITE. You should be on it like.... everyday? Im on it honestly all day at work when its slow and at home when im just chilling.

You can learn everything you need to no about the car on here. Search tool is your best friend, and have it search for TITLES.

Thanks for all the replys guys this is a really cool and helpful community i appreciate it all.

oh and by the way ill get the pics of it tomorrow its getting dark where im at.

Anytime man. Like everyone else says keep up to date with your matianence if youre not into mods and all that best way to keep these cars goin as long as pozzible keep it pretty much stock besides as said before boost gauge and things of that nature to help read the car. Enjoy it they are amazing vehicles!

Nice clean dsm man. Props. Check for boost leaks also. look into purchasing dsmlink to monitor your car also. or a datalogger

Nice Talon. You can search on here how to make your own boost leak tester. Or you can buy one for cheap. then basically you add air pressure and listen for leaks. It's pretty easy.

Remember, the search button is your best friend

Thanks guys im definately going to check for boost leaks car needs a alignment so after i get it aligned ill do that but thank you all so much.:thumb:

One thing these guys forgot .... bushings .... notorious for bad bushings look at and check all your control ar bushings jack the car up and make sure of delfection by tugging on the tires listen for thunking and. Such noise bad bushings will throw your caster camber tow off and can even lead to drive axle wear

I'll suggest replacing all timing equipment, if you are mechanically inclined I'd do a balance shaft elimination.. I just hate balance shafts.
New plugs / wires. New fluids.

Then I'd get a wideband/boost gauge(looks like you got something)

Then if you're just going to daily drive it and not going for pure speed, get an intake & exhaust to just free up ponies + increase car's breathing ability which it'll run better in general and get more mpg. Enjoy it, learn to love it.

When that auto trans goes out, buy IPT :)
