Just bought 1992 Talon TSI AWD

Hi, I am new to the community. I have read various faqs and topics but i could not pinpoint the solution. How can I tell if my motor is a 6 bolt or 7 bolt other than opening the head? Thanks.

Look at the date the car was made on the sticker inside your door. If it was made before april of 1992, then it's a 6 bolt. After that they started making the 7 bolt.

in my opion i say the 6 bolt is better, the 7 bolts have problem with bearings and you get crankwalk or spun bearings

^^ Yeah most people here would agree that the 6 bolt is the better of the two.
