I recently bought a 92' Talon for cheap. It came with some problems but was just a nice car I couldn't pass up.

My car keeps eating new batteries left and right. The battery light is on and the car shuts off if you take out the negative while the car is running. Could it be the Alternator?

Also my radiator/cooling light is on as well. The temp gauge says its running fine and there is no leaks. What do you think it could be?

The tranny grinds if you try to put it into any gear. The clutch pedal engages right off the floor. Do you think I just need to adjust it?

THANKS

the battery prob. i would have no guess. The radiator light could mean that the fuse is blown on it and needs to be replaced. And your clutch could probably use some adjustment, if its not slipping at all. Or if it catches right off the floor he could of had clutch work done i.e.- Stage 1, 2, 3... if it shifts fine its probably not a problem. good luck.

Definetly your alternator eating the batteries. The radiator light could mean low fluid, check the level of your radiator, and not just the overflow tank. Yeah, you should adjust your clutch, read how on the vfaq.

As far as the batteries, I would say its the alternator. Check the belts to make sure they're tight first before buying a new one. don't want to spend money you don't have to! :) I'm not sure what your coolant problem is but if it isn't overheating i wouldn't worry about it. I don't like the sound of your tranny though! pray to God it's just an adjustment!! haha well good luck, Luke
