Okay so i bought this red 1996 eclipse gs for 1400. I am going to be completely redoing the interior of it and refiberglassing the car and I don't know anything about molding the engine performance wise so I wanted to get some suggestions... I will post pics up soon.

If you are prepared to dump a lot of money for little power then get this stuff:

header
test pipe
catback
CAI
throttle body
cams
internals
ignition system
NOS
upgrade brakes

becuase thats the car he just bought..

what i would suggest you do first like everyone should do on any purchase with any used car.. IS:

Maintenance first..

make sure you get it running fine.. make sure the heart and brain of the car is in good condition

dont go dumping money making the car look as you wish and then you sputter off the green light with brakes and belts squeeling with you dumping a trail of oil..

then slooowly but surely maintain your life and your car.. MEANING

these cars can make you dip into your savings piggy bank once too many times by "accident".. take your time.. it really isnt worth the stress later..

NEXT! By any parts you want/need ONCE! ex. dont buy headers for $150+ when you plan on going turbo..

NEXT! ask as many questions and search for answers on DSMTuners because were here to help.. and LISTEN to some of us ###.. when it comes to performance i mean..

when you are modding interior or exterior.. dont ask us.. you will most likely get flamed because alot of us excluding me.. believes in being opened minded and doing as you wish.. LOL

as a N/T owner, save all your money up and turbo it. those headers, intake, exhaust and all that jazz all together just make a tiny difference. a whole bunch of hard earned money for disappointing results...

i had plans to turbo mine but it died before i could. its all part of owning these enthusiast types of cars. they need tons of attention from it owners.

if you do it right and find the right parts, you will barely touch $1000.

you could take the easy way out and get a GST/GSX which has tons of aftermarket support. the RS/GS does as well, you just have to look around a bit more. read some of the turbo write ups this site has to get you started.

First Make it reliable..Daily driver....just like Misterbeechy said....
then upgrade....You can go turbo witch means a lot of work, and money, internals, exhaust, turbo kit....ect

In my opinion just make it a nice reliable daily driver....
And like my dad says if you want a fast car, buy a corvette..

Based on this entire quote..guys, don't tell him to buy a GSX (he obviously can't read or search), he's going to end up with a painted interior and a body kit, let him do it to a GS.
