Manny, i must honestly admit, i HATE and ENVY you, well not hate but the 2nd part yes it is true... LOL
Congrats on the purchase ! It's soooooo sexy jesus take good care of it !!!
And my opinion, get a 50 trim. ;)

envy away!!ROFL yes she is sexy, cant wait till next season to take her to the track, and pop her cherry! :sneaky:

50 trim huh?.... shoulda kept the precision 5031e i sold a couple months ago.. ohwell. atleast i still have my dsmlink, injectors, vrsf fmic, and other supporting mods for a 50trim/hx series turbo. the hunt begins for a new snail! :rocks:

9K, not bad. One I've been looking at has been asking for 12K+. Same car with a few less miles.

Man.. this was the dream for me.. I wanted a virgin Eclipse GSX just like this, took me 6 months to find one that i had to settle for. BLK with BLK leather interior 80k on chassis 12k on rebuild motor. No rust but turbo issues and bunch of oil leaks with faded paint. But man the more i look at yours the hope i once had for quest for that virgin comes back. I mean your OEM paint even looks new! only takes about 4 years for that clear coat to start fading, hell i but everything works on that car! prob. even the antenna goes up and down

Beautiful car! I wish mine was that clean. I'm in awe of the pristine brake fluid reservoir bracket more than anything.

Post some quality pics of the undercarraige.

tell me about it! thats the first thing that cought my eye, when i popped the hood... the look on my face was priceless WTF.. gold plated like a motherEffer! haha

will get a nice underbody shot asap! its been raining off and on, here in the CHI these last 2 days. had to crawl under there, the other day to make sure it was "LSD" sure was! and ABS to boot! ohh good'ol 99 with all the options, standard!

You mean the clutch reservoir? Because the brake one looks pretty rusty.

Clean car, definitely the best color combo. What temp. Hid's do you have on it?

I may or may not have bought a bone stock '97 GSX with 68,069 original miles for $2800 last weekend. It also may or may not need a transmission, but for the price I may not may not complain.

:D

That green one?

That would be the one. The guy called me as soon as he got it running; claimed the only thing wrong was the battery needed charged even though I took a fully-charged battery with me when I went to look at it initially. It's started fine ever since, so whatever he did fixed it. Motor's quiet as hell; not a tap, knock, squeak, or thump.

He gave me first shot once it was running, and I took it.

^back on topic...... LOL. bunch of jealous, envious, dreamers out there huh!? haha its all good! atleast she's in a real dsm'ers hands. and not hidden away like the first owner had it. ;) and yes the clutch resiviour bracket is blinging, like every other bolt in the engine bay! again, i coulda went the evo route. but couldnt justify letting this one time only, opportunity pass me up! and im a die-hard 2g enthusiast. 2door evo>4door evo..;) might have been the last of the clean low mileage 99 gsx's.. who knows... thanks to all who GREATLY appreciate the new toy! and all the feedback on her.

ohh and the hid's are 8000k. "ebay" $40 kit, going strong over 2years!

^back on topic.....
Topic? The only topic I can see here is a bunch of guys drooling over your car in a thread that would be better-represented in the Hangout. I post that I also recently picked up a hell of a deal on a low-mileage 2G GSX and you respond with "back on topic"? WTF

Sorry to interrupt the flow of your thread.

Such a nice car, I just dont understand why you people up north put up your cars in winter. Is the salt that bad? Why not just be religous with car washs in the winter? I usually get mine washed once a week anyways becayse the service station I fill at has free car wash on tuesdays with 8gal of gas or more.

I just fill on tuesdays and get the super wash for 2$

well then lets see some pics man!!!! :hmm: :thumb:

hey tanro.. its not so much the salt/rust(which is bad none the less!) but more so the dueche-bags behind the wheel+slippery snow conditions =:notgood: id rather not chance it, and wreck or even worse total this beauty i have. a $500-$800 hooptie/beater car is the right choice for winter!;)

You have no idea. Salt can ruin a car in as little as two years. A buddy of mine just brought his high-mileage 1996 Neon up here with him when he moved here from SC, and I can't figure out how the entire underside of the car is SPOTLESS when the same car up here was junked 6 years ago because it rusted away to nothing.

Why not just be religous with car washs in the winter?
It didn't go above freezing in Western PA the entire month of this past February, and it snowed almost every day during that month. Where are you getting your car washed?

well then lets see some pics man!!!! :hmm: :thumb:
There will be plenty of pics once I get the transmission rebuilt. The car has been stored in a garage for two years as it hasn't been driven, so it obviously needs a bath. I'm not trashing your thread with pics of my dirty car.

Properly waxing and maintaining your paint means salt won't do a damn thing, with proper waxing and maintenance I drove my 1g all year round for 8 years without a single spot of rust and it snows 8 months of the year up here.

I payed $2200 for my Auto '97 GSX. 134k miles, Motor's been rebuilt during that time. Can't remember at the moment how many miles on the rebuild.

Red Ext, Tan Leather Int.

Just needs a new front bumper.

Nice looking car, great find. I just purchased a 99 GSX 3 weeks ago also and im very happy with it. Its silver/blk combo with 134k miles but was well worth the 1800 I paid for it. Im going to leave it alone beside light mods and continue working on my TSi. Great find man and enjoy it !!!! :hellyeah:

White face gauges, def. not stock :) Lowered, too. 9grand is actually a LOT of money for 11 year old DSM. Regardless of how clean or low miles it can be. Good luck with it.

those gauges come stock in the 1999 cars. 9k is alot for a stock one, Ive seen 10 sec cars go for that much but it could be a good deal to the right person. The 25k mile dsm that i know of is/was up for sale for 12,000.

Nice find! Mine has 47k miles though :p

I think you still have me beat though, since I don't have a running engine in mine yet!

What do you plan to do to it first?
