AHH i was looking it up under 1995 year thats why it wasnt coming up. I love your build btw. Id give me a lot of motivation to work on mine :hellyeah:.

Well back to the garage!

Well I'm bored as hell at work so Im posting my entry/pics from the 20th on my page. :)

Update 1/20/10:

Well this is my first entry in the Journal so we'll see how it goes.

I got my clutch set up a few days ago. ACT 2600 w/ a street disk. Im a little weary on the fact that I have a 7 bolt for you know what reasons.

I also dont like the fact pedal pressure will increase. Anybody know how bad the increase in pressure will be?

ACT 2600 setup:

And I got a hell of a deal on these puppies. I figured since I have a 99 GSX that I would pick up the 99 Service Manuals, all 3 volumes. These things are MINT. I dont even want to use them. LOL But they may come in handy as they have every single thing you would want to know about these cars.

Update 1/29/10:

Here's a video dedicated to my old 97 GST and its build. I always said I'd make a video so here it is. It's a long one.

Alright well I took a few pics of the new additions to the parts pile. I believe you guys already know that I chose to run the HX35 so some of these are aimed towards the Holset.

I bought a set of wrenches so my cool new AN fittings won't get TOO beat up while tightening:

Supertech Std Size valve seals:

1474d1266367737-jjrock5-gsx-2-16-10-dsc04553.jpg

I'll be doing some exhaust work so I bought Vibrant 3" flanges:

1475d1266367737-jjrock5-gsx-2-16-10-dsc04554.jpg

Not sure why I bought this 1g bov but it was cheap and minty:

1477d1266367737-jjrock5-gsx-2-16-10-dsc04557.jpg

I had all my feed and drain fittings ready for the FP Green so I had to buy a select few for the Holset:

1480d1266367839-jjrock5-gsx-2-16-10-dsc04566.jpg

I left the old timing tensioner when I did the belt when I first got the car so I think it's time to change it:

1481d1266367839-jjrock5-gsx-2-16-10-dsc04561.jpg

As you may know, a restrictor is needed for the oil feed of the HX so here it is:

1483d1266367893-jjrock5-gsx-2-16-10-dsc04575.jpg

I gotta get the stance right so I bought myself some Eibach Prokit Springs: Hells yea

To finish up my FP intake pipe setup is a K&N that I got at Advance Auto, same as FP sells but a bit cheaper:

To finish off my ENTIRE drivetrain setup is a ACT Streetlite flywheel:

Really cool tool that I bought recently:

Snap On 3/8 drive cordless impact wrench, this thing is seeeeexy, I hope it works just as good:

I have a few more things coming in the mail to finish off FINALLY my entire setup, I've spent way too much on this thing....

so how much did your gst dyno in at after the build?

Well I actually never dynoed it after I finished. Didn't get a chance to. :( LOL

So I finally received another critical part of my set up. Comp 101200 cams. We'll see how well they idle. Hopefully close to stock as I expect.

Thanks guys!!

Today I received my new water pump. I'd rather replace this now than later if it fails while in use. LOL

I know I had said I had a 1g throttle body and I was going to rebuild it. I decided to skip all the work and bought a rebuilt piece. This was completely shot peened, new seals, new BISS and oring. All sensors were tested and the throttle arm was powder coated in black. It looks better than new. Courtesy of Snowboarder (the mod) ;)

I agree last year my car was tore apart so when the head was rebuilt everything was replaced especailly the water pump, just in case.

comp 100200's dont idle like stock. They have a nice lope to them and do pull like hell up top.

I had a set in my 1g

Fuuuuu!! I always heard these idle like stock. These are supposed to be the same thing as FP2 cams.

Definitely. You may as well pay now than pay more later.

Okay, I had an idle surge issue that happened to be a bad intake gasket but with out the climb of the idle you can tell the diff..

3" downpipe to a test pipe no cat exhaust

Thanks for reading! I wish you luck.

Ok not much of an update but I still like pics. LOL

I disassembled the Tial wastegate and bov to verify which springs they had.

The MVS wastegate:

I ordered it with the 1 bar spring (14.5 psi) and verified that it was. So happy they didnt make a mistake. Gold spring:

Sadly I noticed that the bov had the the pink spring, 12 psi (the stiffest one available...) :ohdamn:

I want to run the lightest one so I had to order the black one (7 psi).
