This post is for those interested in reducing or eliminating idle problems with their current Jeep TB set-up. It's also here for those looking to do this mod. If you have negative comments about the mod, there's already enough threads out there for you to post in. Keep this one clean and don't post unless you want to help improve the research, developement and use of this modification.

As much as I hate to reincarnate a topic that has been beat to death... I knew there was a stock Jeep Throttle body Idle Air Control motor that used a connector type that was the same as what we use in the completely stock form. I found it. I beleive it's off of a 94 but don't quote me on that part. The part number however is correct. It's 4798377 and sells for about $68.00 depending on dealer mark-up.

I've yet to put this in use but it will be a perfect fit on the Jeep TB and SHOULD plug right in. I'll probably get it in and installed again by weeks end.

i just finished boring my jeep tb to 60 mm.i'm being very cutious about doing this so i don't wanna mess up 2 tb and then gp get a 3rd one, so what kind of iddling problems re you speaking of?

Part number listed above is good. Direct fit and works. Installed it today, tweeked the throttle plate to throttle shaft bolts a bit more and have things the way I want. For anyone interested in buying a set-up from me.... It's not gonna happen anymore. The cost of this new part pushes the costs right up there with the price of one made by an actual company. So the new IAC motor is good if you already have one, but will cost you a lil to get.

I bought my jeep set up AGES ago (before I was even boosted) and I rarely have idle problems and Im not sure the idle problems I have are related to the jeep TB. Im in the process of cleanin up my engine bay (mainly the sheer number of vaccuum lines runnin all over the place) and Im sure once thats all settled I wont have any problems at all.

I would assume upgrading to that part wouldnt help me at all?

Until you know what actually caused your idle problems, you won't know what it will take to fix it. This info is probably best used by those needing to replace the IAC due to age/wear related failure or if the purchaser prefers an unmolested IAC in order to rule it out as a possible cause. Not anything very solid like most of my other problem diagnosis responses just a food for thought kind of deal.
