JE pistons directional?

Just bought a set of pistons from a trusted friends car. JE pistons hung on 1g rods. I'm assuming these are directional but there is no arrow or "DOT" on the piston. There is number stamped on each that is offset towards one side in the center of the piston. Am I to assume this is to be used as the arrow/dot that points them forward?

Never mind just went by the valve reliefs.
