Whats up everyone? I'm a little new to this forum and i dont really know my way around. The site forced me to post here, so if im off topic im sorry. I am currently in the process of rebuilding my trans...and i was sort of looking for some feedback. Does anyone know anything about "shep trans co"? or jacks trans...basically here are the two links, what should i buy...keep in mind im no stock 420a...i should be around 290 wheel so i want the strongest setup i can get for the money...under 1k$. Hopefully these kits are for my car and if anyone has any better ideas let me know

I am not sure if they do 420a transmissions to be honest with you. But either company makes a fantastic transmission. A good friend of mine has a Jack's transmission and it is awesome! still shep is one of the best transmission builders around for a good reason.

My best advice would be see which one, if either, can do the 420a transmission. You wont be disapointed with either company.

Never heard of either one really doing 420A transmission rebuilds. Give them a call and find out -- they might know someone who would do it otherwise.

You could ask Jack but I dont think he does the 420a trannys. Ive known him for years and they have worked on 420a's in the past but nothing like a tranny build. He still does not touch the dsm auto trannys.

If he will build you one then go for it. He does awesome work. I have a built tranny from him and cant complain at all. Shifts flawlessly at 7500rpm and others here are taking them to 9000rpm and beyond with no shifting issues.

Neither for 420a...even if you're really at the hp you're thinking, your stock transmission will be fine. If anything, you should spend your money on a quaife lsd and 3.55:1 gearing.

Yes...i sadly learned today that neither one really has a kit for my tranny...and im deffinately interested in an lsd if thats the way to go...i dont know much about dsm yet, but i do need to take the best route. any sugg. are welcome...i have a beast and no TRANNY!!!! someone guide me in the right path:confused:

Quaife LSD and fresh OEM transaxle fluid... that's about all you'll need. Slap in some DSS axles and a good clutch (Southbend, etc.) and you've got a virtually bullet proof drivetrain.

know where i can get a cheap rebuilt tranny?

I replied to your pm... :thumb:

If you plan on looking for a rebuilt transaxle, you might as well just get a neon transmission...you can find a early 2000's one in good condition with the 3.55 As I stated in the pm and paul here...that with the quaife lsd, southbend clutch, mopar OEM mtx lubricant (pn 04874465), and appropriate axles when necessary...you should be golden :rocks:

EDIT: informative links...

i dont know about bulletproof but yeah im sure geting the neon tranny and putting the lsd in would be a good idea since first hand i had the neon tranny's diff explode, shoot through the hood, destroy my turbo, put holes in my head, ect etc

The 3.55 neon trans has the different final drive ratio compared to our stock 3.94:1

I never said bulletproof, but definitely not too shabby. Sorry your diff exploded, that's why I recommended getting a quaife at the same time. I've had tranny grenades as well send shrapnel throughout. :notgood:
