I installed a set of those white faced indiglo gauges but it worked fine for a long time after. It hasn't been working for a while but Im about to sell the car so I want to fix it. I dont think it is caught on the plastic though.
 
yeah tell me about it i've went through two and they both dont' work anymore. i guess i need to look for another cluster :(

AND in response to turbosax2's question: the needle does not move at all, ever. When it first started failing it would be erratic and drop down and up and down and up then be fine again. Then one day it just went to zero and stayed there.
