My ISC went bad. I was looking to get another, but every one I've seen has 6 pins on it; mine only has 4. So what I am asking is why is mine only 4 pins and what do I do about replacing it?

Thanks!

ISC or TPS??? Thottle Position Sensor has 4 pins. Also, you should fill out your profile so that others know what year of DSM you have. I think you may be mistaking the TPS for the idle speed control motor but I am only guessing.

No, it's the ISC motor. I may be a newbie on this forum, but I'm not in real life.

Sorry about the lack of car info, I figured it wasn't relevant to this thread.

It's a 95 GSX 5 speed.

That is the same ISC that I use ( 6 pin, I converted mine from a '90 to a '91-'95) and it is a six pin motor (I had to swap two wires for it to work in my '90). You must have a '96-'99 on that car, they are 4 pin. Not sure how the wiring goes to swap them though. You might search for a conversion on here to see how it was done so you are sure that it is the ISC and not the wiring to use that version of ISC. Here is the one you need, I think.

No, my car is in fact a 95 and it is definitely a pin.
The one in the link is in fact a 4 pin one, but it doesn't look like mine. It might work because the holes seem to be in the right spot, but it's not the exact one.

For one, the connector on mine is different and would not plug in to this.

You must have a different make throttle body on your car. I have only seen 3 types of dsm isc, and all are 6 pin. The 90 with external harness, 91+ metal housing, and the updated all plastic housing.

Either you are mistaken for for a 2g tps, 90 tps, or you have a different throttle body.
