Is wideband affected by open dump tube?

Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but i only found 1 thread on it, and it was an un-definitive answer from a member with very little rep so i want to be sure.

I have an o2 housing with an atmospheric dump tube, and was wondering if this will cause my wideband problems? I have been told to make sure that my exhaust isn't leaking, and it technically not, that is to say, until the wastegate opens, then it technically is. So will the open dump cause my wideband to give me an incorrect reading or will it be fine?

A open dumb off the wastegate won't effect your wideband reading.

I agree, unless of course, you welded your o2 sensor bung in the waste gate dump tube. In that case, you "could" have problems.

Ok, glad to know. I just wanted to be sure. My o2 sensor is toast and mitsubishi wants $168 for a new one. So im going to be using the wideband for narrowband simulation as well instead of replacing the o2.

Go to oxygensensors.com, you can get a bosch front o2 for like $50 brand new, and a o2 socket for $9...

Not sure if it affects the read out. But according to Innovates website they recommend that you place your wideband 02 sensor bung 18 - 24 inches away from your turbine.
