Alright I got this turbo on trade. It's massive. I'm wanting to upgrade from a 6765 to a 4202 or something similar I'm just not sure about the exhaust side on this thing. Would like some input.
My motor is wiseco 9:1
Head is gsc s3 cams and kiggly beehives. I rev it out to 10k
To get on stall I use a 75 shot and run it out to about 55 mph. Can always be extended.
Here are specs on turbo
72mm inducer 102mm exducer on comp wheel, 96mm inducer and 88mm exducer on turbine side. A/r is a1.34
Here is a pic beside my 6765

GT42R.

And it's an open t4 with that large of an AR. I would suggest getting a slightly smaller hotside to help spool though.

It's the turbo off a Detroit diesel. T6 divided flange. My car is a 1/4 mile car. I have no problem spraying to get the thing to spool. I emailed fp about doing something with the hot side or possibly billet wheel. The 1.34 just seems a bit massive

Looking at this map for the T4 turbines.. you might need something in the neighborhood of a 125 shot to spool that 1.34 T6, even on a high rpm 2.0

Kevin Jewer runs a big T6 1.32 Borg turbo if I recall correctly, but he has a 50trim to get up on the auto and give him enough exhaust flow to start spinning the T6

Wonder if I can switch this to a tial Vband flange for gt42/45

If I can get a smaller bolt on exhaust side that would be nice. If anyone can help I'd appreciate it. I don't really have much tied up in the turbo and its brand new so would like to make it work. I appreciate the help guys

Bud- if I had a suggestion I would have already made it.

Not sure if serious.:hmm:

:aha:

Hey look that makes about 10k in response to me now.

But in all serious-ness..I'm 89% sure, you will be in the middle of something, and think of where he can get one..

If this won't work there's always the option of selling both and getting an hta 4205 or something similar

my friend wants to put a Holeset Hx35 on his '90 TSI...things off a Cummins and is gigantic. i dont think itll work though.
Cool story, bro- too bad it has nothing to do with finding the O.P. a smaller turbine housing for his GT42.

Person who finds me a smaller turbine housing gets a box of cookies LOL

Why not block half the scroll... :aha: .66cm housing sounds about right?

OR use a spool valve. Use a pressure switch to open the valve at your desired boost level.
