Is this resonator required? Part # mr188464

I did my best to search before posting but couldn't find anything on whether it's good or bad to get rid of. I apologize if it's been answered and I simply missed it somewhere.

Is part # mr188464 (circled below) necessary or can I delete it?

It's in the way of my licp but wasn't sure if it would affect anything negatively if removed. Thanks in advance!

You can eliminate it. It's not needed. This was only on 95-96 2GA's & Mitsubishi got rid of it on the 2GB's.

you might get some extra intake noises... I think that's a helmholtz resonator and was almost certainly installed from the factory for NVH reasons.

Looks like a kanuter valve to me ..........Not needed.
