Langley,
okay. I want to upgrade my camshafts in the next couple of months, but I am one of those people who likes to get multiple things done at once. So, I was thinking that if I swap in new cams then I might as well do all the valve-train stuff as well.
I want to do HKS 264's, new stiffer springs, retainers, seals, guides, lifters, and of course SS valves.
Would that be good for a NT? I figure once it is done then I don't have to worry about it and I can probably not worry about taking it to redline.
Oh, and this is still going to be a daily driver, but I just really want to squeeze out more power WITHOUT doing turbo.

if your going to do all that u might as well do a full head job, get it port and polished and an angled valve job with over sized valves, go with some good coated valves and titanium retainers, if you port and polish your intake, over if u wanna be a big spender and get an aftermarket intake, u could run some crane 16's, or if u wanna go with crowler go stage 2 :thumb: either way your gonna get some more go go juce out of it :D

I was thinking of a 3 angle job but I may want to invest that extra money in my tranny rebuild so I can enjoy the extra power.

ive got a guy in fl whose doing my head rite now, full race P&P, with 1mm oversided ss valves, coated springs and ti retaines with a 5 angle valve job, hes also p&p an intake mani for me, all of it done for 900 shipped :thumb:

ive got my obx cam grears, and im gonna run crowler stage2's, i was gonna run crane 16's but i plan on goin turbo to much overlap

sounds good, but i am not planning on turboing or even racing with my car. i just want a fun daily driver, NA, with some more power. I like the idea of a "sleeper" car that's why I am not doing a complete head job like p&p and such. thanks for the info though.

Agreed.

And how is it more money? More repairs? Getting a turbo dsm maintenced is about the same as any other vehicle. Plus....You will be spending alot more money on making your car fast when you can buy a turbo dsm for what you spent on mods.

I went 14.8@90 bone stock in my 96. You will have to spend probally what I paid for my car to be that fast. Which was $5,500.

i was refering to putting a turbo on a NA car. unless you do a lot of work oyu can't fully utilize the turbo so why try. besides, I already have a lot of money invested in my car. it's worth more to me than I would get in selling it.
