Its not just a joke. Ask the cops if its a joke. It is an illegal emmisions device. It is not a stock item, not is it a regulated one. Depending on the state. If its a strict state like cali, you ahve to have some stamp thing on it. It comes from the manufacturer. AEM's for the most part do.

yes it is a joke jackass, it's just a pipe and my old k&n, i just through it on the front of my car, as a joke to take a picture of and put on a couple forums i post on, glad a few people got some laughs off my honda imitaiting intake.

not to disagree or anything (just stating my opinion). i don't see how making air flow to the engine better detracts from emissions control devices. hell japan has stricter emissions laws than we do and those fools don't even have EGR valves. ... i think the smog nazi's are just trying to make a buck off people like us (to an extent... i think cats are a good thing for daily drivers ... i hate being behind smoking stinky ass cars,like mine.hehe ... NO emissions devices on my car ,except for the cat )

I would imagine that Japan would be less strict since you often have to prepare their cars for emissions here.

I dont know how much of a difference this would make for legality issues, but your car is obd2 and mine is obd1.

ohhhh short rams, yum nice hot air off the radiator getting sucked into your cars motor (1hp for every -8degree drop in air charge) buy your cool short ram pipe and rate it to your stock air box with an OEM K&N filter (stock airbox gathers air from the inside of the fender = colder air than found next to the radiator) i guess it dosent look "hot", but you drive your car more than you show off under the hood

They are all the same basic concept, but, they differ. There's the legality issue I've brought up before; some are legal some aren't. Also, there is tube diameter. Larger the better. There is also the materials. Some materials dicipate heat better then others. Some materials also flow better. By just looking at the one in that link, I can tell you that you won't be dissapointed, BUT its a small diameter tube, very small. You can tell by the adapter that connects up to the throttle body, its not much larger then the origional size.

i just got a intake from ebay, and it took me like 1 and a half hours to put in, but it was ok wasent that difficult. the car runs better, but does anyone know where i can get some cheap heatwrap, because the cold air becomes warm when it passes through the battery and the engine. thanx
