It depends on how you define slow. The RS/GS is not as fast as a GST/GSX. It is not exactly slow. When they designed the DSM they didn't "have to" put a turbo on. They chose to. Honda use NA cars and Mitsubishi use Turbocharged cars. It is not out of necessity it is out of which area of tuning a company has experience in. Like I said, I am not going to get into a p*issing contest with you. You have an opinion, I have no problem with that. You just need to express it better. The NT Eclipse is very close to the lower spec Preludes in performance. The GST/GSX is very close to the VTECH prelude. 195 BHP / 156 lb.ft Torque for a '97 VTECH (Taken from Honda) and 210 BHB / 214 lb.ft Torque for the Turbo DSM of the same age (Mitsubishi figures). So yea, very close off the line. In a rolling start the higher torque would win. The thing about the Turbo DSM is the price for increasing BHP. It is always cheaper and easier to increase the BHP on a Turbo than on a NT.
In my opinion, and I am sure everyone elses on this site, the Eclipse looks a lot better than a prelude. On a honda site the opposite would be true. Just accept that we prefer a DSM to a honda and get on with your life.
