Is this a stock BOV?

I am trying to figure out if this is a stock BOV or not. It says greddy but there is a rubber tube coming off so idk. I just got the car from a relative and am trying to figure out if it has any mods. Pics below.

No that is not stock. Thats an authentic Greddy type-s blow off valve. The stock 2g blow off valve is all black and made out of plastic.

No, that is a GReddy or fake GReddy. The tube is there because the bov's recirculated. A stock 2g bov is a black, plastic piece of crap.

O (sorry i am completly new to all this) what does tightening/losening (hard/soft) the bov bolt do?

Depends, If its not leaking, 20psi easy.

I mentioned that it could be a fake because there are fake GReddy's out there. The difference is the diaphragm tends to fail on the fakes and knock-offs. So if that's not a genuine GReddy I would not run much more then 20psi. Since the person who put it on was actually smart enough to recirculate it, they were probably also smart enough to get a real GReddy though. That bov will be good for 20-30 pounds if it's legit.

I only mentioned that it could be fake because I saw a bov packaged in GReddy packaging that looked exactly the same, but it turned out to be fake. The only visible difference was the color of the diaphragm.

You guys can NOT tell if it's real or fake. You need to see the side of it where GREDDY is stamped into it, that is how you tell if it's real or not.

That's exactly what I was trying to say. There are fakes that look almost identical to the real thing.

i know its a bad picture but if you look closely you will see the word greddy stamped into it, like the other people said. Its where that thin rectangle is on the silver part towards the left in the pic.

Defenently not stock its a greddy one of the best u can get and is also becoming a hard to find item since they stoped making them they now make the greddy type rs to make it louder take the jamb nut loose and tighten the center screw down and do it in reverse to make it quiet and will hold upwards of 30#s of boost

most of the greedy type s or rs will leak and will flutter and will give you some surge ( i said most and not all of them)

i tried 2 Greedy so far and 2 of them leaked from the breather and there was no way to fix them excpet for sealing it of with glue. and then again after sometime they will leak again.


stock 1g BOV is way much better if you ask me

I own the 1g BOV & a Greddy TYPE-S & I like the 1g better imo.

Stock 2g= Total CRAP

Stock 1g= Never used can't say

Greddy Type-S= I love mine, i love the sound (wish it was louder......its all the way hard if anyone knows how to make it louder let me know) mine never leaks, and works great.

BTW totally not stock, trust you would know the stock when you saw it.....i blew mine out SEVERAL times at a measly 7lbs. Stupid POS.

i was always told that the adjustment bolt was to compensate depending on the boost one is using so the bov wouldn't open under pressure...

so am i to believe that its just to affect the sound of the bov?

im just wondering ... because almost all the way out (soft) it whistles... and all the way in (hard) it sounds like a sequential.

well again speaking about these greedy bov , i have hard ic piping and intake dejon and still this greedy is not loud at all, the stock plastic junk is just louder

thats hard to believe, I had both a greddy and stock 1g bov vented and the greddy was by far louder than the mighty 1gbov, but then again I had the real greddy.
