Is this a GS or RS

I really want a GS and i found what looks to be one. The guy doesnt know what it is and i dont want to drive 60 miles for nothing. I like the gs because of the side skirts or w/e those are called. Are they part of the door itself? Like could i buy a RS and buy doors off a gs and they will have the side skirts already on them?

Looks like an RS, I say that because it has roll up windows and no center console armrest.
You can mount the OEM side skirts to a RS no problem.

If you like it then I'd say get it. I mean its not like you can't switch out the parts. All the main components are the same.

ask for the vin and the 6th digit or the whole thing...it will break it down to "price class". Also it does have "rear disc", so it could be a gs..because RS came with drums, but NOT all of them...

Rs also the door inserts are not black. U can upgrade to a arm rest if u find a lid and a base. The base can be grey becuase the lower insert is black.

Also the lack of door pockets.

I emailed the guy about the talon on friday but he had already sold it I dont have power windows now i HATE it so im not gonna get it. Though this one looks nice and its a 5 speed =]

2500 hundred is kinda high. The skirts can be added, u just. have to drill the doors and the rockers to acept the mouldings. No need to replace the doors.

I would only offer 2200. But i would rather have a 5 speed with power windows. I hate having to manually roll them down =/

Even 2200 with 144,000 on the clock is high. Try and and get sevice records if u are gona pay that high.

is your mind set on a eclipse? You could get a talon and just switch out the bumpers and ground effects.

i bought my gst 2 years ago with 140,000 miles, with no dents or paint issues whatsoever. I definetly think that 2500 is waaaay to high. IMO, i wouldnt get a non turbo because they are heavy and only have 144hp. just my two cents anyway. its whatever makes you happy but, i know theirs a good possibility that you will regret your purchase the first time a 97-99 gsx/gst passes you on the freeway(Legally of course) with their aftermarket blow-off valves and highrise wings. But to the original question, as 96' Eclipse GS stated, the vin number will give you your answer and most of the time that is the only way to be 100% sure of what you intend to buy.
