I have a 96 talon that has 180000 miles on it .... the motor was already rebuilt at 100000 and im not going to rebuild again .... i want to put another 420a motor in it but i dont know where to get one .... im not trying to go to the dealer and get one becuase im sure i can get one cheaper somewhere else .... another idea i was going with is buying a 99 eclipse and just swaping everything i have on my talon to the eclipse?? any ideas??

Is there a problem with the engine that you have that would require you to swap out the old engine?

Do a compression check and see how she's looking across the line. If there's nothing wrong with it, don't fix it.

If you do come across another engine- do you want to build it up in order to maybe do forced induction?

Also- consider that a new engine is going to cost you about a grand, or more- give or take. A rebuild can run you as cheap as 500 bucks unless you're going big.
