Resolved Is there a difference between 1G auto and manual crossmembers/cradles?

Long story short, car was stolen by an undocumented immigrant and he either decimated a curb or nosed it off a jump.

Either way my crossmember is bent back into the downpipe, and the cradle went from being a | shape to being a > shape.

Need to figure out if I can just snag an awd 5-speed one or if I need to go searching for an auto one since locally 5-speeds are a dime a dozen and autos are rare.

Don't have a copy of CAPS anymore, deleted it years ago when I swore I'd never own another dsm, otherwise I'd just look it up.

There are 2 different sub-frame/crossmember solutions: AWD and FWD. It doesn't matter what transmission came in them, just the drivetrain.

Very true.. the AWD is different from the FWD, it has nothing to do with the type of transmission!

The AWD cross member runs from side to side in the front area of the engine bay and the motor mount bolts to it!

The FWD cross member runs from front to back in the middle of the engine bay (which makes it a PAIN to take the oil pan off) and the motor mount bolts on the front of the cross member!

I am currently looking for a cross member for a fwd as mine two looks as if it was taking out by a curb or something nasty!
