is the turbo xs rfl prone to leak

i need to know if anyone has had this problem with the rfl leaking around the connection to the hard ic piping. do they usually come loose? and is there a way of fixing this problem

They're the worst valve on the market for our cars.


They're sprung very light, and intended to make 6psi sound like 30psi when it releases on riced-out Hondas. Take a look at how the valve mounts to the base with three set screws and ask yourself again if that's a leak-proof design.

The name says it all....Real F*ckin' Leaky.

+1, remove that junk valve. It will always leak, get a 1g or EVO IX valve.

I had one of the older ones on my car and it leaked alot. i had to silicon all the way around it to stop the leak. They also mad my turbo have comp surge under WOT

It's more of a headache to fix it then to replace it. Look around for a Evo IX valve, I have one running a SCM6152e at 25psi without leaking. They can be crushed to hold more boost just like the 1G valve.

alright thanks guys i guess as soon as i can get a replacement valve i will replce it but it guess for now i will have to tighten it up and then try that silicone idea that AWD-TSI had previously stated at least to hold me over.

Yeah, try adding silicone. JB Weld makes some insane glue but that might be a permanent bond, .
