I wanna get the turbo xs rfl for my 99 gsx, but i know its not going to fit on the 2g.. so is there like a flange kit orsoething? or what do i need make it fit on the 2g and recirculateit? thanx
The Turbo XS is strictly a BOV, there is an adapter kit for the 2g's but since we have a metered MAF/MAS it's going to throw codes since it just vents to the atomosphere. I am not sure what other people have done when getting this specific BOV, but personally I have the Turbo XS H-34 because it re-circulates.

yeah either weld on a new flange for your current UICP or you can just buy a new UICP with it preflanged for that BOV. Vent at your own risk... im sure you have read up on it..

IMHO I would rather spend $50 more and get the GFB Hybrid valve. It's as loud as the HFL and it also has this cool flapper echo sound for the diverter valve. It vents and also recirculates, hence why it's called the Hybrid valve. Here I copied this from their website:

GFB pioneered the Hybrid system back in 1998 (which has since been copied by many other manufacturers),
featuring two venting outlets, one is a recirculation outlet and the other dumps to atmosphere. This system means that about 50% of the air is recirculated, resulting in an audible but slightly more subdued blow-off noise. It also means that certain Audi/VW, Nissan, Mitsubishi and other cars with sensitive airflow meters can use this valve and make a great blow-off sound without backfiring or ECU error codes. No other manufacturer can boast such success with these types of cars.

The latest version of the Hybrid allows the user to vary the noise characteristics of the valve, essentially making the Hybrid three valves in one! By swapping either the trumpet or the recirc outlet for a special plug (now supplied), you can change the valve to 100% recirc (silent), 50/50 recirc/atmosphere (medium noise), or 100% atmosphere (loudest).

that thing?? i've never seeen anyone else use that?

does that directly fit on the 2g? (dont think so) if it doesnt what kit do i need..

cant find any installions for that BOV on a dsm .. lemme know man

thanx
Actually I have seen people use that here is one of my friends in AZ who has it:

As for installation you are going to have to do some research/phone calls and call shops who carry the product (if you want to go with Go Fast Bits) to see if you can just directly replace your 2G stock BOV for this one. I know since I use to have a 1g crushed BOV I needed the 1g flange.

Ah, but it is a step closer than the one off the bug. ;)

But I am thinking about getting the GFB since like I said it has this cool echo sounding thingie j/k. No, but I am seriously thingking about getting it. It sounds MEAN and it's adjustable (as in you can switch the valves for the BOV/Diverter and also increase/decrease how much dumps into the atomosphere like you can with the HFL)

Yea, that is definately way overpriced IMO. Go with the standard hybrid, that is what you need and the one I have been hyping. I know so much about it because my ex has one on his GTI and it sounds amazing, I can't stress that enough. If you have any more questions let me know and hopefully if you go with the GFB hybrid you can tell me how it works out for you.

You can also get this in silver and blue

P.S. My SN does mean my car is sexy not me LOL :thumb: I am a girl, but not that conceited.

Yea, but I think this BOV is the same price maybe less then the Greddy Type S.....Plus the Turbo XS RFL is just a crazy noise maker he he he That's why you get the BOV in just silver or blue instead.

Edit: BTW, I have been told that Turbo XS Bov's tend to leak, especially when you upgrade your turbo and increase the psi. But, like I told you I have it and does not leak for me. I think it's like the ACT clutch problem a lot of people had, maybe just a bad batch? I don't know just wanted you to get more info about it so you can better decide.

Well like I said I have Turbo XS and now changing my mind and also getting GFB (when I get funds of course) so hopefully everything turns out well for you and you can maybe update us or do a review on how it sounds on your DSM good luck dude :laser: :thumb: :dsm:

P.S. Always do more research into it, you may find bad things about it that I have not mentioned or do not know. Like I said before, call a couple places that offer the product to see if it directly replaces the stock BOV on the 2g's that way you save yourself a headache ;)

gsxtreme1987 said:
yeah i'll definately keep u updated if i get either one of those two :D

thanx for all the replies u changed my decision completely LOL

yeah gonna go to a local performance shop too ask about it..
I am a woman.... that is my gift, it's like I have ESPN (j/k) or something! hehe
