Is Stock SMIC Ok?

I was wondering if using my stock SMIC with my new 54mm turbo setup would be alright.
I have noticed that EFI Renagade racers run with no intercoolers, and while they run superchargers and not turbos it still heats up the intake charge. I know that the puny little side mount will hear soak really quick and that will greatly increase my intake charge temp but I need to know if it will probable be safe to run it like this for a month or two while I save up for a good fround mount.

BTW, I will be getting all fuel mods and a DSM link before I try and fire the car back up, so don't tell me to get supporting mod before I do stuff like get a big turbo.
 
yeah.. im confused as well..

and what does some Renegade racer supercharger crap have to do with it.

just keep the boost down and dont let your turbo spool a lot if you want to make it by on a small intercooler for the turbo.
 
I have a better idea, why don't you save yourself the headache and just wait to install it when you get the front mount on?
 
Ok you guys, a 54mm turbo has a 54 compressor wheel.If you have to know, mine also has a .63AR compressor housing and is 50 trim, meaning that the turbine is 76mm(I think)

I mentined the EFI renagade cars because they usually run 8.xx 1/4 miles on ~26psi of boost and many of them get driven around on the street. I figured that since I will be running 18.5psi and using at least a somewhat efficient intercooler than I should be able to get away without lot of knock, which is what I am worred about.
 
I don't need to go racing around in it, I just need it to drive to work and school.

School=about 30 miles on highway@70-75
Work= about 2 miles @35
 
it should be fine then. if you aren't boosting, then the SMIC isn't really going to do anything.
 
It's not that I won't be boosting at all, we all know how anoying some people are on the highway, it's just that I won't be launching from any stoplights for a while.
 
It will be fine. You may not have optimal performance, of course, but it's not like you're going to hurt anything. I know some people act like it's absolutely critical to get a FMIC or your car will blow up, but that's bull.
