Here's the situation. Just rebuilt my 7bolt(i know...please no comments) with an sbr 2.3 stroker. put a lot of mods on as well. 650cc injectors, fpr, 255 fp, sbr2500 clutch, fidanza flywheel, BALANCE SHAFTS REMOVED. I had the crank balanced.

I was just wondering if considerable vibration is normal. I think it might have to do with both the big injectors and balance shafts gone.

maybe just paranoia, but i have no REAL dsmers in my area so this is the only place i can ask...thanks.

Although I can't answer your question, I will say that I'm only an hour away from you.

With the balance shafts gone you are going to notice some vibration. What kind of motor mounts are your running? If you switched to the urethane this will also increase the vibration. The injectors wont have any positve or negative impact on this. What is "considerable" vibration? Let me know and I will help you out. :thumb:

Considerable Engine Vibration? Does it increase/decrease with RPM? In my experience with DSM's, I have eliminated the BS's in 5 cars, and if I had never seen/rode in the car before I worked on it, I wouldn't even know if they were eliminated at all.

Do you have a harmonic balancer on the engine?

You said the crank was balanced, was the pistons/rods, and flywheel also balanced?

I would hate to be in your shoes right now, but I hope you either get it figured out or you don't drive it anymore than you have to till you find out what the cause is.

Best Wishes.

I have my bs's eliminated and at idle is feel some vibration, but nothing that i'm too worried about. When i driving or getting on it a bit, i don't notice a whole lot.

Yeah, it is not real bad at all...i think i am just paranoid. No urithane bushings. But there is a little more than before i had the rebuild. It does go away the second i start driving.

Personally back when I had stock motor mounts with b/s removed I didn't feel any additional vibration. Aftermarket mounts will make it vibrate a lot, but from what you are describing it still feels a bit excessive. Do you have any huge vaccum leaks? I've had an instance where my car was running 272s with stock idle rpm and had some vaccum leaks so the car was almost at the point where it would try and die out at idle, but it never would. My vaccum was pulsating and the engine vibrated a lot until I started driving. I fixed the vaccum leaks, bumped the idle to 850 and no more vibrations and steady vaccum at 12/13 now. Something similar to this could be your problem as well.

Boost leak check? I can do that...I just work my a** off, so I havent had a whole lot of time to do everything I want to yet. Things to come:
oil change
new plugs
boost leak check
ball bearing recall
u joint change

hopefully after that I will feel better! :dsm:
