is something wrong with bov or what???!!

here is my problem:

i have a stock 1gen bov.i replaced my air intake pipe with DejonTool one,so now after i put into my car my bov starts to make a funny sound not like pssssst,but like psst psst psst,is it something wrong or it should be like that?? it looks like my bov is sputtering any suggestions?? Thanks

This happened after you replaced the intake? Did you check the vacuum line that connects to the top of the BOV? Make sure it's connected, on both ends. If this comes disconnected, the BOV will not "blow off" and will make a fluttering sound, called compressor surge, which is bad.

Yes it happens when i replaced the air intake with dejonTool all my vac lines are connect really tight,maybe its time to change a blow off???

Ok, First off is the blow off valve releasing? Did you take the BOV off any?

yeaa it releas the air,but like i said when i change my stock air intake pipe to DejonTool my bov starts to make different sound instead pssssst i got like psst pssst psst so i dont know where is a problem ??! maybe its time to change my upper intercooler pipe??

Sounds like you may have a boost leak? Have you done a boost leak test on it? www.vfaq.com shows you how you can make a tester if you don't have one. Does the sound come out from around the BOV or around the the intercooler where its connects (next to the clamps)?

the sound comes normaly like it should, (psssssst,that what the normal sound looks like, from original 1gen bov) i got a little vac leak aboce my TB ,and im not shure about the boost leak,but the boost leak doesnt do nothing bout changing sound of my bov

Ok, now we are getting somewhere.. I thought you meant that it was doing it like all the time.. So when your BOV lets off it makes a different sound than it use to? Sounds like your BOV is surging. So when your BOV lets off it goes off at multiple times instead of one large pssssst?

To me it should be ok. My friends evo done the same thing and its been like that for over 6 months with no problem.

Take the intake off and put it back on. The BOV will change note and possibly response every time you do. It's kind of like tuning a musical instrument, and extremely variable.

Do not bump your threads in the future.

We are assuming you aren't trying to vent your BOV. If you are, then all bets are off.
