I have pretty much all of the above wrong with mine to some extent.. It is in the shop right now =P.. But I still daily it and fix it as I go. Love the damn car. It is worth it.

Mine has 169k on it original bottom end =).

your lucky, most people have way worst problems then that

yea i know that one. i had to do a crank seal, rear brake lines(soft and hard lines) plugs, wires, VC gasket, timing belt tentioner(hydrolic one) and theres a little more that i have done but it didnt really cost anything. i still need all new calipers, rotors, pads and Tcase seal that i can think of off just off the top of my head.

So Ill trade you man ill fix your car in a day and you can have fun with mine.

If your up for a project, and it has a good condition frame thats all that you really need. I'd say its for sure fixing if the frame is good. Everything else is replacable.

I just bought a 95 tsi for 1800 from a guy in Omaha Nebraska and I talked to the guy on the phone and he made it sound really promising. Im in Afghanistan so I couldnt go get it so my Girl and a friend went and got it.....Wow now this is a car thats prbly not worth fixing haha...I'll be lucky to get a grand out of it when I sell it. Your tsi awd is worth fixing for sure man!!!

Please tell me it wasn't a green car with rusted out shock towers?

If it's rust free, and it has that low of miles I would not even consider selling it..My 1g has twice whats on your list..It will help you get to know your way around DSMs a little better..

+1

my first dsm i bought had a spun bearing. My dad tried to fix it and 15 miles later it spun again. that was my first motor swap. after that fixing every odd and ends itcomes in handy. theres only like 2 things i have never had a chance to do with these cars since i been into them. take your time fix the car study it and you will be very happy
