i have a 91 eclipse that has been sitting for a couple years now. it is a non turbo 4 cyl 5 speed, hit a deer, front bumper needs replaced, hood too, headlight on passenger side. also the brakes look rusted and i dont know if the lines are shot or not. is it worth puttung the money into to fix it or just sell parts off of it and get rid of the rest?

i think parting it out might be best bet. i was looking at a ford probe gt. anyone have any input on them?

Yup I've owned one. Relatively quick and some nice low end torque but a pain the ass to work on and it was always broken. So if I AM going to have to constantly fix my car I would prefer it be a DSM. More potential and much more aftermarket support.

Nothing wrong with getting a probe, as above said really fun to drive and a pain to work on. If I could find a turbo 1g gt probe I would be all over it. 2g not so much. There isn't much for aftermarket parts for those cars but bolt on stuff wont net much if any gains. If you really want a probe and can't find a turbo gt go with a nt 2g and slap a turbo on it^^

I'd also part it out if possible. I have a 92 TSI that I hit a deer in..had several problems that came down to a cracked radiator and some hidden cooling system issues. Got those fixes and it was fine since.

IMO non-turbo DSM's are no fun..so part it and get a turbo ;)

:hellyeah:

First you have to find out what's the most you can get for your car, then find out how much is gonna cost you to fix the dented parts and all the repairs. If it was me, I would just part it out and save me some time and hassle on fixing it. Remember that when you want to make profit, you have to add how much you spent on the car when you first bought it. Part it out and get the turbo version.

If it were 5 years ago I would agree with parting it out. These days the demand just isn't there. I have thrown away ten times more parts than I have sold in the past 5 years. I would just fix the car up and sell it whole, or drive it as a dd.

This is a no brainier all of the above with a unanimous "part it out" is your best option. You should buy a turbo awd because prices are low but being 1g DSM's i have seen a rise in clean well cared for example are going to start rising. Lots of these cars are being parted out (like yours) or smashed or even rotting out here in Canada. Turbo awd cars have been popular so supply in demand will dictate prices will rise (I hope). Good luck and were hoping we see soon with a turbo car.

I agree with bryanwheat fix it and drive it as a dd and if you want to get a turbo model save your money and get one then but you almost always want t o have second car with owning a dsm

Itd be nice to get an awd turbo model but then I think it'd be something else to go wrong. Between these cars and the probes they're getting harder and harder to come by

@Abe. I would man but jy around me don't have ANY LOL and it has been sitting now for a couple years
