I had to fix my battery cable the other day and my speedometer stopped working the same day when I did so. So when I got a chance to check my speed sensor i notices that the plug was just laying there. I tried to put it back on but it seems to be really lose which makes me think that it might of snapped.

I found this picture and added an arrow to show what I am talking about. The blue arrow is pointing to the where the plug i have came off. Inside the plug there looks like a little metal piece in the center which makes me think it might of snapped. At first it looked like it might just snap on but it just seems to loose to be right. Can anyone tell me if it came off at this spot that I broke the sensor?

Its just a metal clip that goes on their to help hold the plug on the sensor. The clip was probably removed and never replaced at one point in time in the cars life and just now the plug decided to come off...

Only one way to find out. Set it back on and see if your speedometer reads while driving. Probably lost that clip like said before.

you could also take the speed sensor out of the tranny and turn the ignition on and while plugged up spin the gear on the speed sensor. Get a partner to verify whether the speedo is working.

ok so i drove it today when i had it back on there and the speedo was reading but i hit a bump and the sensor popped off again. So I am guessing I am missing the metal clip to hold it in place. Where can I get one of these clips?

Call JNZTuning, they should be able to hook you up. Just explain it's a metal clip that hold the wiring harness plug on the speedo sensor.

I'll try and locate a Part # in a second...
