yes i spelled dumb wrong for a reason, now onto my question.

My friend has a 96 GS with these mods:

Engine Mods:
Melling Oil Pump
Cp 88mm Piston set
Eagle connecting rod set
Cometic Head gasket
head studs- ARP
Enginne Gasket set
Ferrea Intake Valve
Ferrea Exhaust Valves
SPring and retainer kit
Valve lock
2.2 stroker kit
4340 crank shaft
lightened flywheel
Act 2600 clutch
Brand new stock cams
AEM air intake
GREDDY 4-2-1 racing headers
and CHIKARA Racing headers(not installed)
ALL new lil things includinng belts pumps battery .
Iridium Spark plugs


He just bought a 100 shot of NOS(yes NOS :shakes head: ) for it and when i asked him "Dude why didn't you asve for Turbo, you can push some high numbers with it." he replied, "Because the turbo i want is $5000"....he said he wanted a 25G...um, wouldn't he be better off with something like a 50 trim, or am i the dumb one? Also he could be running good numbers if he got a Hahn Stage 2 and just upped the boost.

Nobody is dumber.

With the HRC kit, you can only do so much on stock internals. No High boost on their Super16g turbo.


At least now that he's beefed up his motor, he can now save for a turbocharged setup. He could do a 16g setup with everything he has, and get bigger injectors...etc..and still run higher boost with his new forged setup.

If he plans on staying NA, oh well. 14 second timeslips are a dime a dozen.

And i think hes smart for building up his internals, but i think he was dumb for getting NOS, save up and get a turbo...he WANTS turbo, but he wants a 25G, isn't a 50 trim better? wouldn't he be better off getting a HRC stage 2 then selling the 16G and getting a 50trim?

Funny no one asked what his compression was. Is it a 10:1 motor or a 8.5:1 motor. If he has higher compression he will only be able to run so much boost no matter how big the turbo. A 25G is a big ass turbo that does not cost 5k. He would probably be better of with a 20G and some good tunning equipment. He sounds like a ricer who makes excuses for his ignorance. He just makes up huge prices so people will say, Oh, ok that makes sense.
