Is it normal to replace the rear axles of a DD?

My '90 Eclipse GSX has 130K mi and there's play in the front inner axle joints. It was suggested I should replace the rears as well as the fronts. I ordered the fronts last week (car-stuff.com), but when I look for straight rear replacements, I don't see any.

I'm aware of three bolt Vs four and mine is the OE three, but I never do any kind of launches. Since the only aftermarket assemblies I see are built up for high HP, I'm concluding there just isn't a recognized need to replace the originals, just high power upgrade options. Comments?

I've never replaced a rear axle on a 3 or 4 bolt unless it was broken from launching it LOL.

Unless the boot is torn up or its making noise I wouldn't worry about replacing it.

Hmm! Looks as though the rear half axles are fine until proven otherwise. Whereas the front axles appear to have a much more limited service life (typically 100Kmi or less. Thanks for the input guys :)!
