Is it a bad idea to run fans on Constant?

My car is going through Anti-freeze like crazy. It doesnt seem to be leaking. I replaced the radiator cap, checked the thermastat and I'm doing a compression check today. If that turns out fine the only thing i can think of is the fans arent working right. Is it a bad idea to run them on constant?

make sure you fill it completely, there can t be no air and do you smoke white? and how s your water pump?

figured it out head gasket is gone. coolant temp senosr is out too. as for white smoke yea bad. and one piston is gone(i think not to sure but sounds like it). but there is probally more but im not goin to have it runnin till i get the 4g63t in it.
i got a 91 eclipse i can drive for now. luckly

my cooling fans are hooked up directly to where as soon as the ign is on both fans are full blast. ( why wait for it to get hot right? ) And no problems yet, been like this for about a yr now, all I did was open the wire jacket on the cooling fan nxt to the resouir and there were a few wires, but there was a blue and orange wire there that i spliced a wire to and ran that wire to the ign fuse ( the one inside the car ) and that was it. ( Dont hold me to that completely been a long time since i did it maybe i should check it out exactly, but if anyone is intersted in doing that to their 1g just pm me and i could tell you exactly if thats how i did it or not. Just have to go take a look at it thats all. )
It still gets to the same temperature after doing this, the difference is its not as hot on idle while your sitting, and it takes a little longer to get hot, and under hood temps are a little better than before. Stuff wont tend to melt if you dont have your heat shield ( which I do )
