Is crank walk fixable??

I'm thinkin of buying a 99 gst with a 2001 jdm 4g63 that the guy said crank walked. Can the engine be fixed? Is it just the thrust bearing failure or is the problem the crank or block? Can I have block work done and crank kit.

This guy doesnt know what he is talking about. There is no 2001 JDM 4g63 for our cars. Maybe for the Evo but not our cars.

I know the guy and he got the engine from somewhere, think Atlanta and was told it was a 01 4g63? He blew his engine up and got it as a replacement. I haven't looked at it yet. I was just wondering if it walked can I rebuild the shortblock and be ok or is it just gonna walk again? I can get the car cheap but I'm wondering which way to go. I want it for a mildly modded dd.

So he blew up the first motor and got "crankwalk " on the second? I would stay away, no telling what else he messed up.

Even if it were an Evo VII "jdm" 4g63 it wouldnt fit a dsm. After the Evo III the engine was swapped to the way it is now (cams on passenger side) .. So right there the guy you are getting this car from is clueless.. Chances are that car doesnt even have "crankwalk" that term is thrown around so often for any little issue these cars make because people are too dumb to diagnose the real issue. What makes this guy believe the engine walked??
