so last night i launched my car and i spun 1st 2nd and i belive 3rd but at the same time it felt that it was slipping. wen i put it in 3rd it went to redline then to 4k rpms quick and stood there for a little bit.this is the second time this has happend.. ..could my clutch be goin bad.

AFter that on the way home, i put it in 5th and floored it and it didnt slip..

How many miles do you have on your act2600 clutch. Did it get oil soaked or is ther oil around your bell housing? usualy when your clutch is going, when you put it in 4th-5th gear and hit boost your rpm will creep faster than your tranny. (sometimes you can smell it.) REmove your dust/air port covers in your bell housing and look for fibors or any parts of clutch. Also look in your cluch fork hole. If you have been slipping it bad there should be plunty of dust/fibers in the bell housing.

Also next time post in the drivetrain section because your a proven mamber.

Its a possibility. Mine was doing that, when I got on it too hard it would slip but if I took it easy it was fine.:)

Like 4g63t said, if it is slipping it is much more likely to do so in the higher gears. Do some driving to get it warmed up then get on the gas while in 5th gear and see if the rpm's shoot up. If it gets so bad that the car doesn't want to move then pull over and let it cool off a bit.

It's seems kind of unusual to burn out a 2600 with a 16G on a FWD. Make sure your rear main seal isn't leaking.

i drove it for a while to get it warmed up and tried it again i put in in 5th and nothing its normal.. it only does it wen i launched it. could it be that my clutch gets too hot. or could it be doin that because i have a lot of hotspots

Agreed.

A burning clutch has a very distinct smell. If you don't smell that then you are probably just spinning the tires.

thats what i kinda thougth to but wen i was in thirds i was at redline then all of a sudden wen to 4k and stood there for a while. is there another way to find out if your clutch is slipping..i know i have a lot of hotspots on my disk
