Is my clutch slipping?

im newer to the tuner scene, and i was wondering when your clutch is slip...how will i know? Sorry...

Generally, there are couple of ways that you can tell:

1. Mashing the gas in a taller gear like 5th results in the RPM's moving up quickly, but the car not accelerating at the same rate.
2. You can smell the clutch when you get on it.

I had a modified NT for many years and drove it for 125,000 miles without ever replacing the clutch and it still wasn't slipping. In many cases, when you start making more power on a turbo car, the stock clutch will start to let go and not really hold the power, but I don't think you have that issue.

Trying the fifth gear test and letting us know if it smells will give you a pretty good indication. Let me know if that helps,

i only smell clutch when i really get on the gas and make quick shifts...

it could be slipping just a little right now. id say wait it out a week or so and see how it is feeling then.

Based on that info, I would say that it's starting to go. I slip launch mine at 6000 RPM and I never smell it, so I'd baby it until you can replace it.

I would adjust the pedal and bleed the clutch system as a precaution..
